The Rundown

Here's what's been going on the last few days: (most of which you probably don't need to know)

1. It looked like I had lost my period (that's not something I often misplace). I have to admit, after searching for it for two stinking weeks, I was starting to make mental notes of all of the things I need to get straight before this baby gets here. I even, gasp, bought the dreaded EPT test and took it two nights ago. I was extremely thankful that we only showed one line, as was the James, who was not far from a panic attack. Anyway, I found my long-lost friend and therefore have been able to confirm the negative test result. Whew. That was a close one.

2. We had a great time at the March of Dimes Family Team Celebration held at the Birmingham Zoo last weekend. My little man has already put his imagination to good use with stories of how the tiger ate several people's hands. Hopefully I'll be able to upload the pictures soon.

3. I would like to formally request that the media take a vacation and shut up with all of this economic gloom and doom. I'm not trying to pretend that these issues are nonexistant, but the collective media has used its power in a horribly negative way. The media has worked this nation (and the world) into such a frenzy it makes you wonder if they were just looking for some new stuff to cover. What are they going to do now that the whole world is waiting for the demise of the US? Are they going to pat themselves on the back? Here's a newsflash: the economy is a cyclical concept. Things cannot always be wonderful. Sure, it sucks when you're in the rough spots, but don't sit there and act like this part of the cycle is something the current administration has done to us.

I can seem to remember what else I was going to mention, but my lunch is almost over anyway. I guess that's it for now. Later.
